Summer Athletic Camps
“The Cedar Creek Athletic Department will strive to: 1.) Produce athletes able to compete at a high level athletically/academically; 2.) Physicals for Athletes
We are getting to that time of year where athletes need to get a physical for next year. Remember, its those that are incoming 7th, 9th, and 11th graders. The rest still need to fill out the rest of the paperwork (but just not get the physical). Doc Perez has done some research on how much our local clinics charge for a sports physicals, one had a 50% discount and still had a price tag of $92.50 (w/o insurance), another office said $45. The best one he found are these guys below. They are only charging $25. Parents need to set and appointment (its not walk in) and take their physical paperwork all signed and completed. Children's Wellness Center will be opening their clinic for our Cedar Creek Community athletes that need a physical from May 7th -10th. They will be staying after hours from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm to see our athletes. Saturday, May 12th, they will be open all day for us. These physicals are only $25. Please call to reserve a spot on any of those dates. You may still go any other day if you call and set anappointment and still get a physical for $25.

BASIC INFORMATION
♥ CHF screens young athletes, ages 14-18, for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). Generally, one screening after age 15 is sufficient, unless cardiac symptoms are present.
♥ HCM causes a thickening of the heart wall, and can lead to obstruction of blood flow and an erratic heartbeat.
♥ HCM typically does not present any symptoms.
♥ HCM is the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in young people.
♥ HCM effects roughly 1 in 500.
